COMMISSION IMPORTING PROCESS. THE FINANCIALS JAPAN
Commission Importing process
· If you wish to proceed with a commission import with DRK Imports below is a step by step guide to the process.
· Our Commission rates are as follows.
· Anything up to £20’000 our fee is £750 prices include vat at 20%
· Anything £20’000 or above our fee is 7%
Step 1- DRK will require a £750 deposit. (deposit is dependent on agreed value of car to be purchased) After we receive the deposit, we will ask you to fill in a vehicle criteria sheet & then we can start looking for a vehicle using the information you have provided. We will keep in regular contact with suitable vehicles throughout the process and we can be contacted if you have any questions.
Step 2 – When a suitable vehicle has been found and agreed on, we will then try to secure the vehicle, when the vehicle is secured, you will receive an invoice for the vehicle shipped. We will then require full payment for the car and the shipping costs. At this point the quicker you can pay us the quicker we can start the process of having money transferred to Japan. Any Vat and duty costs given at this point will be estimated and may change depending on the exchange rates when the car arrives in the UK.
Step 3 – When full payment has cleared in Japan, we will work with our contacts in Japan to have the vehicle placed on the next available ship. The time scale can differ depending on which port the vehicle is being shipped too. We will give you regular updates on the arrival date, this is normally between 6- 8 weeks from leaving Japan but depends on various factors.
Step 4 – When the vehicle arrives in the UK we will require payment for Vat, Duty and customs our commission fee is taken from deposit. You will receive an invoice with a breakdown of all costs. When this has been paid the vehicle is now available to collect from the port. We can deliver vehicles at cost price or we/you can arrange to have the vehicle collected via transporter. The vehicle must be collected within 7 days or storage charges may be incurred from the port.
Step 5 – It is the customers responsibility to have the car motd, once the car has a valid mot we can assist over the phone with the registration paperwork free of charge. If you require us to complete the paperwork on your behalf this will cost £100.
Alternatively We are now able to offer customers the full package of making there import road ready including various service packages via a third party please ask for details.
Please note that when buying older Classic & vintage cars & cars sold as projects any issues with the car after delivery or collection are not DRK’s responsibility.
We are a Vat registered company (vat no 245 5034 23)
We have an EORI number which allows us to generate The all important Nova Number the day your vehicle lands in the UK. That means your vehicle will clear customs faster, and your car won't be hanging around waiting for registration.
